Water, more water and ice!
Today was a gloriously bright, frosty morning when I went out with the faithful hound. Even the lake had ice on it, and the ducks looked a bit miffed!
Yesterday was another story! Like the days we've been having it was water, water everywhere, and the little stream did its best to get down the waterfalls round the fallen leaves.
However, I did manage a better photo of the heron!
Puddles made lovely reflections.
But there was a lot of water where it wasn't welcome! The powers that be are doing something drastic to the Children's playground, only I don't think they will be moving for a while. Mud-bound seems to be the word for it!
The reflections in our little pond at the end of our garden are rather nice, too.
And just to prove that I do go on holidays sometimes, this is the sea shore on the Menai Straits on Anglesey, in Wales.
I am determined we are going on holiday next year. It is our Golden Wedding Year, and I think we should celebrate in style! I've been looking at short cruises, round the British Isles, but then I keep thinking, it does get a bit rough, even in summer......
But its fun planning!

Go on book it!! You deserve a treat! xxx
Ah,the beauty after the rain...
Yes, plan something truly memorable!
It does look a bit wet there. We've had our share of rain lately too.
Love the Heron's perch right in the middle of his fish market. I'm also very fond of your reflective images especially the lines of the fence and your back yard pond. Have fun finding just the right trip for your Golden Anniversary.
It was nice to see the sun on Monday but it did not last long. It was back to grey skies and rain again yesterday.
Go on book that cruise. I am sure that everything will be fine.
That water does look cold. Even the heron seems to be bracing against it!!
We LOVE cruising and I think it a wonderful idea to celebrate your Jubilee with a cruise. We're taking another cruise from Baltimore to Canada next fall.
lovin that heron!
VERY nice photos, Gilly, especially the heron and the small pond.
I forgot to tell you that those deer are some sort of composite material (quite heavy) and I don't know where they got them, but they could have been from a local wholesaler. I'll try to remember to ask.
Golden?! How many years is that? My parents just had their fiftieth. My dad got a tattoo with my mom's name, Cookie, lol. It was his first tattoo. THAT'S true love.
Nothing but rain and mud here for the last few months. Really putting a damper on my riding.
What great photos and lovely blog! Found you on Wild Sommersets blog...
