Summer

Carmi's Challenge this week is "Summer". Summer to me means roses - any roses, although cream roses are my favourite.

This photo was taken at Loseley Hall gardens in Surrey. They grow right over a beautiful gazebo in the Rose Garden, and actually have a gorgeous scent! So many roses these days seem devoid of scent - and what is lovelier than burying your nose in a rose and breathing in the scent of summer?

These are so beautiful! Try as I may, I've never been able to capture roses with as much delicacy as you have here. These are gorgeous...the yellow shadings are almost too lovely to describe!

You are sooo right, Gilly! There is nothing more beautiful than the fragrance of roses! I don't buy roses (to plant) that have no fragrance.

We used some garden roses in the flowers this past weekend and they had a glorious smell! Those are beautiful, Gilly.

Such pretty roses. You have captured them in a very nice composition. I'm sure it would win an award if you entered it in a contest. They almost look good enought to eat, like frosting roses.
