Oddities and Abstracts

One of the things I like to do with my camera, is find the views others miss Though I have to say I am not as good as my friend here at finding such oddities! But I loved the curves of the legs of this seat.....

...and the old paintwork of the slats. I know they need a new coat of paint, but I love the colours!

Sometimes I play around with my images on Photoshop, though I am very, very far from being expert, but had a good time with the melting snow in this tree...

....and the way the stream entered the frozen lake making fascinating patterns.

This, you might guess, is a close up of a pineapple, or was, till I got at it.

And, as a complete change, Mr. G and I actually went out to eat last week, and this was my dinner - a nice piece of steak, onion rings and chips, and yes, that is a half a mushroom lurking under the onion rings! I rather think US and Canadian friends will be shocked at the small portions!

It was nice going out, I think we should do it more!

And finally, the crocuses round here have suddenly burst into bloom, almost overnight. These gorgeous pale mauve ones were tucked beneath a hedge, and made a perfect round clump. I love the yellow stamens against the pale mauve.

And that's my blog for a few days! what an exciting life I do lead!!

1. The photos are all quite interesting -- the pineapple actually looks like Murano glass!
2. The portions look generous to me.
3. It's all about perspective, isn't it?

I love that sentiment. It's a core philosophy of mine as well, and it makes the difference between surviving life and actually LIVING it. Beautifully said!

You're doing great with Photoshop and producing some interesting images. I think I've achieved something now that I can take photos and load them onto my blog. And why I wonder does that food make me feel hungry when I've just had my dinner.

I'm starving - that steak looks tasty - I agree, you should go out more and let someone else do all the work Gilly. Pop over to mine, and see if you can guerss where Ive been, and who I saw. xxxxx

I love the abstract photos Gilly, but am envious when I see the purple crocus. We have a little ways to go before they spring up from the garden.

I put my camera down for a while and need to get it back in my daily routine. :)

The crocus are beautiful! The images you Photoshopped are very striking.
The portions of your dinner look to be the right size for me. Your picture is making me hungry.

Who cares if our lives aren't terribly exciting, Gilly? Yours had color, form, movement, creativity, good food and all of us to not them!! I love the colors in the bench too, and the way you played with the photos, especially the water entering the frozen lake.

hello Gilly

thank you for calling at Friko's Musings. I enjoyed your comments.
You sound like a person I might like to get to know and, on first sight, I certainly like your blog and your off-the-wall pictures.
See you again.

I forgot to say: isn't Araucaria the greatest; let's hope he will go on and on and on.
