Blind Eyes

Sometimes you feel you are being watched!! But there is no life there.

Could this be Big Brother? (George Orwell's, not Channel 4@s!)

These birds sat, just looking. In a Park In Verona, with lovely fountains and flowers.

And this lot look too snooty to look at any of us!

I felt quirky this molrning, and decided to post these. I love looking for the unexpected, the odd and peculiar. But its not always easy to photograph them - people can get a bit irate - and there's always the possibility they might see themselves on my blog with unflattering comments.

At least the birds and the ladies with hats won't care! I think we have a duty to be mindful of the feelings of others. But today you can't seem to rely on that being the case, especially with "Reality! shows and the like.

That first picture was a bit eerie. As thought people who were once there had left a piece of themselves behind.

Thoughtful post Gilly. How are things with you these days?

That place is eerie, M2P - its an old mill, don't know if they are going to redevelop it or knock it down!

I'm doing OK, thanks!

This post was great! I, too, have always felt like empty buildings had empty eyes starring at me.

Then your fun addition of the mannequin was delightful! Sometimes a hat makes me feel snooty, or quirky, or silly. What does a hat do for you?

Love your post - I love old Industrial Architecture and have to admit that you have some spectacular specemins your side of the hills. Its sad to see them decay, and I love when they do something with them (like Slats Mill in Saltaire near Bradford) but most of them are just too big I suppose. The hat ladies look very snooty. In answer to Connies question, all a hat does for me is give me bad hair!

A very interesting post. Abandoned buildings have a special aura - a bit mysterious and a bit eerie.
Love the ladies and their hats.

Goooooood photos, Gilly. I really like the top one. It reminds me of an Edward Hopper painting I like and have a print of.

Connie - like Diane, hats do nothing for me except squash my hair flat!!
