There is a thaw in the air, and the snow has gone. And the sun came out1 What a difference that makes. My mood lifts, my step is lighter, and the world looks different!
The ducks still look a bit miffed at the iced-up lake, though, and have to scurry along like the clappers on their little pink feet when anyone appears with food. The geese, though just as eager, look a bit bemused at their feet are in water, but they are not floating.......
Added to which, I spotted someone I know doing "Grandma duty" with a little bundle in a push chair, and we had a lovely chat. Makes all the difference to me - otherwise I just moulder at home!
I really must get out more!

A lovely blog, Gilly. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner with green pepper information. Hope you have fun making a zesty salad. The ducks would probably prefer theirs without vinegar.

MMM - I;m told ducks don't have many nerves in their feet to feel the cold! Don't know if its true or not.
Sue - I know, and that makes me a great-grandmother, and I feel I should sit hunched in an armchair (wooden, windsor style, not a comfy one) knitting, with a lace cap on, and occasionally poking a fire!
Hello Gilly, We have just come in from a freezing walk with the dog. I was saying to Bob how glad I am that Lady gets us out walking, if it wasn't for her, as much as we say we would still go out regularly, we wouldn't. But when we are out, as much as the weather looks uninviting from the lounge window, it is good to be out and walking whatever the weather really. We always arrive home feeling better for having been out.
Thanks for your comments. You must let me know how you get on with your scrap-booking project when you do manage to get started. Its something else that I had thought of too, so you never know. Can onl do so much, though.

Thank you for visiting my blog. As you commented east Cheshire is more hilly and I think that I prefer that to the flatness which we have here.
