Greek Holidays

As it's the holiday season, I have chosen a few of my Greek holiday photographs to make a collage. They are various places, but all by the waterside. There are lots of harbours and watersides among the Greek Islands! Some of the nicest tavernas for meals were those right by the water, watching the fishes, the boats and the general activities whilst eating a lovely meal and enjoying a drink!

All our holidays were taken during the 1990's, when we were younger, fitter and generally more active. We always chose self-catering, and had a whole range of apartments or cottages, some palatial, some pretty basic, but the sun always shone, fetching fresh rolls from the bakery for breakfast was the norm, and the sea sparkled turquoise and blue.

Happy days!!

Looking very much like Shirley Valentine there Gilly! The colours are beautiful on your mosaic. Youve made me want a Pitta pocket with Taramasalata!! xxxx

How lovely. I've read enough and heard enough that I know I would have loved to have explored the islands and just to know that you did enjoy yourself there gives me pleasure. I love that you are willing to share your memories.

I thought of Shirley Valentine, too. Only I would really want to share it with my guy. The photos are dreamy and nicely arranged. I especially like the orange-roofed houses on the right.
How many times did you go to Greece? How long did you stay, and how did you find your housing situations?
I hope it's in my future....

I have always wanted to see Greece. I think my traveling days are over; at least long vacations.

I went to Greece once, sailing round the islands and it was the most lovely and one of the most memorable trips ever. Gorgeous photos, thank you for sharing them, Katie

Greece holds very fond memories for me too. I fell madly in love with an Aussie! It was during a backpacking tour of Europe WAY too many years ago.

My holiday comes up next week....I'm heading to your country for the Greenbelt festival. Can't wait! :)

You can go on a boat to other islands and to explore Greece and its history through its museums. So if you want to book cheap holidays in Crete, you’ll have a difficult time because it is a destination travel vacation. There are a variety of hotels in Crete and you can find some cheap.
